Breathing New Life into Seized up Hangar Doors
BackOur client called us in to carry out repair work on seized up hangar doors made up of eleven leaves.
The job was to supply and fit twenty-two new bespoke fabricated bottom wheels complete with bearing and grease nipples.
Previously a minimum of three members of personnel were required to operate the doors. AM Defence & Marine designed and fitted a new geared hand cranking mechanism which allowed the doors to be operated easily by just one person.
The original corrugated sheeting was removed to allow for new supporting steelwork to be welded into place. The sheeting was then trimmed and refitted.
The handover included instruction on the correct procedure for using the hangar doors.
